Join SEAWA for our 19th Annual General Meeting on September 29, 2026, at 5 p.m. in the Tap Room at Medicine Hat Brewing Company.
The AGM is an opportunity for SEAWA members and our community to hear about the organization’s work over the past year, learn what is ahead, and take part in the annual business of the organization.
The evening will also include volunteer recognition awards, and local history presentations. We’ll hear from archivist Jennifer Barrientos of the Esplanades Museum & Archives about the history of the “Rainmaker” and the fascinating connection between water, drought, agriculture and Medicine Hat’s past. The story reaches back to the early 20th century, when drought-weary agricultural communities looked to rainmaking as a possible answer to dry conditions in the region.
We’ll also recognize SEAWA volunteers and community contributors through our annual awards, celebrating people who have given their time and energy to watershed and community work.
