We had a great turnout on Saturday, April 24th for our Earth Day cleanup! 25 volunteers came out in separate groups during the 3 hour event, and helped clean up at two different sites!
The storm pond behind Canadian Tire was cleared of trash, while Leinweber Pond saw the removal of many invasive Russian olive saplings. We would like to thank the 4 different families that participated, as well as individuals, Grasslands Naturalists members, and the Redcliff Girl Guide Rangers troop who participated as part of their service projects!
This event proved to be an excellent opportunity to connect with the community. SEAWA staff, our board Chair, Ryan Davison, and some members of our Communications Committee, including Chair Martha Munz-Gue, were all present to help educate volunteers about Russian olive and riparian health.
Thanks for all the interest and support!
